Susan Cain: Public Speaking For Introverts

Susan Cain delivered one of my top 10 favorite TED Talks presented by women.  This February marks one year since Cain took the TED stage to present “The Power of Introverts.”  If you haven’t already watched it, today is the day!

Nancy Duarte’s blog features an article by Susan Cain.  Cain writes “Public Speaking For Introverts: 6 Essential Tips.”  Cain encourages introverted presenters to be authentic and natural; to serve the audience; to accept our nerves; and to smile (Source).  I especially love her “calm the body” tips, and I will definitely share these with my Professional Communication and Presentation students when we talk about presentation anxiety.

If you love Susan Cain’s work, or if you want to present more confidently as an introvert, read Cain’s “10 Public Speaking Tips For Introverts” in Psychology Today.
