Storytelling for Presentations

Earlier this month, Professional Communication and Presentation online relaunched with all new lessons and assignments as well as a brand new structure.  This short lesson (which was accompanied by audio for my students) was designed as a companion piece to the course textbook, Nancy Duarte’s Resonate.

Garr Reynolds has been doing a lot of posting about story on his blog Presentation Zen.  I am so excited for his new book to come out!  Check out his interesting posts on story here.  I’m hoping to use some of his insights in the live class to help us understand storytelling in the presentation environment.

Students seem to have such a difficult time layering story into their presentations and figuring out how to tell a compelling – but short – story.  How do you teach storytelling in your presentation classes?
