Spoken word poet, author, and performer Shane Koyczan delivers a memorable TED Talk dedicated to the bullied and the beautiful:
In the first half, Koyczan uses storytelling to discuss his challenging adolescence that is both “hilarious and haunting” according to the TED website’s description. I did find myself laughing in places and hurting in other places. Check out the story leading up to the 5:00 mark when Koyczan drops the second f-bomb I’ve ever heard on a TED Talk… It’s really funny.
In the second half, Koyczan delivers his spoken word poem “To This Day,” and it is beautiful. He combines poetry with animation and a gorgeous musical accompaniment.
